Trip Details
In April of 1917 the United States declared war on Germany and formally entered WWI. The need for an air force field was evident and in June of 1917, Congress appropriated $10 million dollars for the field's construction. More than 2000 men were given instructions to build sixty buildings in sixty days. Now let's see what happened after that.
Upon arrival, we will visit the Heritage Airpark followed by a windshield tour of the base.
At 11:30 a.m. our lunch has been scheduled at the event center. (Formerly the Officer's Club). Our Buffet Menu: Caesar Salad, Prime Rib, Grilled Chicken, Vegetable, Mashed Potatoes, Beverage and Dessert.
Mission Briefings and/or Demonstrations will occur from at least two departments. This is an active Air Force Base, so final details may not be confirmed until seven days prior to our visit.
