Santino's Restaurant and Holy Laughter – Sunday, March 29, 2020

Today's event begins with a visit to one of Alton's latest additions – Santino's Restaurant. Here we will enjoy a delicious Sunday Brunch offering both breakfast and lunch options and of course, dessert as well.

Today the real fun begins on stage at the Alton Little Theater with the delightful comedy Holy Laughter. All communities have their quirks, but none more hilarious than St. Michael's Episcopal Church. On her first Sunday behind the pulpit, newly appointed priest Abigail touches on Vodka, Bondage and Death before forgetting her message completely – she has the congregation with differing ideas of what the Church should be doing. Can Abigail unite her motley crew and save the church from financial and spiritual ruin? As Advent approaches, the boiler goes kaput, the church's one convert, Myra, proves to have a hidden agenda. Abigail gives in to one wild night that sends her down a tunnel of doubt and fear, and it looks like the church may fall completely apart. But, Advent has a way of turning fiascoes into blessings, and as Christmas approaches, Abigail and her congregation manage to find joy amidst the chaos. Hymns, liturgical dance and wicket tongue left this antic portrait of a small struggling parish to comic heights!

We will follow the ride up with a delightful lunch at one of the Union Station eateries. Not all are complete at this time.

Unfortunately, the project is not complete enough at the time of this writing to have pricing available.
